The three newly-appointed professional affairs consultants bring expertise in areas across dry eye and specialist contact lenses

Positive Impact has appointed three new consultants to its professional affairs team. The new members of the team: Ros Mussa, Caroline Presland, and Adele Peacock, bring practice experience and expertise in topics surrounding dry eye and contact lenses. The move comes as the company moves to a professional affairs-led business model, to better assist practitioners in unlocking the full potential of Positive Impact’s dry eye and specialist contact lens products. Contact lens optician and dry eye practitioner, Mussa, has over 30 years of experience and will be focusing on enabling independent practitioners to establish successful dry eye clinics. Mussa works in practice at The Eye Place, is a past visiting lecturer at City, University of London, and a past faculty member at the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Institute. She is also a pre-reg supervisor. Also a contact lens optician with 30-years of experience, Presland will be working with Positive Impact across areas including myopia management, presbyopia, hybrid lenses and a range of dry eye solutions. Based in Hertfordshire, Presland works regularly in practice, is an ABDO senior examiner and contact lens distance learning tutor. Her career includes managerial, practice clinical and university tutor roles. Peacock will be covering Positive Impact’s contact lens portfolio, providing clinical support to independent practitioners. Having qualified as a contact lens optician in 1992, she gained her advanced level diploma in contact lens fitting in 2001 and has worked within multiple and independent practices as a resident and mobile contact lens optician. Peacock works in the hospital eye service clinics at Great Western Hospital in Swindon, where she is responsible for the fitting and aftercare of clinically necessary contact lenses, such as scleral, hybrid, corneal and specialist soft lenses. A senior practical examiner for ABDO, Peacock is also an internal moderator for the Contact Lens Practice Theory paper. Discussing the new appointments, Phil Thompson, professional services director for Positive Impact, shared: “Bringing these three amazingly talented practitioners, who offer a wealth of experience between them, into our team enables us to better deliver an efficient and bespoke training programme, both virtual and hands-on.” “Each professional affairs consultant brings a unique strength to a specific area of the Positive Impact portfolio but also, cross pollination of their knowledge to all areas, making for an incredibly strong level of expertise,” he added.
