As Oban RNLI celebrates its 50th anniversary, their famous knitted yellow wellies will be available once again to help the charity continue to save lives at sea.

The lifeboat station’s famous knitted yellow wellies will be available from the RNLI pop-up shop on Oban’s North Pier on Saturdays throughout the month of July, and to celebrate the station’s 50th anniversary, the wellies will be knitted with golden threads or embellished in other ways.

There has been a lifeboat in Oban since 1972, which has been entirely reliant on the generous support of the public as well as volunteers who crew the boat.
