The recalled Kidoozie My First Activity Desk can be used in a crib or on the floor or a tabletop. In the crib, a protruding knob can pose an entanglement hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Kidoozie My First Activity Desk toys that can be attached to a crib have been recalled because a child’s clothing can become entangled on a protruding knob which poses a hazard.
An announcement with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission also said, “The opening in the handle on the desks can also pose a jaw entrapment hazard to children under 18 months.”
The toy is convertible and can be used on the floor or a tabletop in addition to being attached to a crib. The recall was issued by Epoch Everlasting Play.
About 8,200 of the toys were sold at Learning Express, Marshalls, and independent toy stores nationwide and online at Amazon and Walmart from January 2020 through July 2022 for about $30.
“The toy has adjustable crib straps, four removable legs and requires batteries. It was sold in white, has buttons of various shapes and sizes and was marketed for children 12 months and older. The model number and product name ‘G02587 My First Activity Desk’ is located on the underside on the desk,” according to the announcement.
People who bought the toy can contact Epoch Everlasting Play for a free replacement or a refund. The company said it will provide consumers with a pre-paid shipping label to return the toy.
